Carly Patterson, who became the first U.S. woman in 20 years to win the Olympic all-around gold medal in 2004, visited the Fox CT Morning Extra to talk about the upcoming P&G Gymnastics Championships which will be held in Hartford in August.

Guests at the competition, which is scheduled to start Aug. 15 at the XL Center, will include the 2012 U.S. Olympic gymnastics team and members of the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame.

Patterson, who also won two silver medals at the 2004 games in Athens, retired from competitive gymnastics to pursue a career in music. Her first album, “Back to the Beginning,” was released in August 2009. She married in 2012.
