Allyson Spellman, a women’s empowerment coach, talks about her own experience escaping from a cult.

Spellman said she joined a religious cult because she wanted more for her life and become very spiritual. She wanted to find a supportive and encouraging community and fellowship.

But Spellman found herself becoming alienated from her family and found it hard to stand up to leadership. She relied on her family to help her escape and kept her plan a secret from everyone else in the cult.

Spellman said she wants to share her story because she can relate to women that have a feeling of being lost. She became a women’s empowerment coach to help women find their authentic voice.
