UConn students are on edge.

Police sent out an alert Saturday that said a resident of Celeron Square Apartment complex was awoken by an unknown person in her apartment.

The intruder forced entry through a window.  The resident was unharmed, and the intruder left the apartment when the resident asked what the offender was doing.   Officers searched the area, but the offender was not located.

“It is alarming,” said UConn student Katie Cioe. “You think about safety on campus even though we’re technically off campus, but it makes you think twice about where you are living.”

“I lock my door if I’m going to be out of my room for more than a couple of minutes. I lock it before I go to bed. I feel that’s all I really need to do,” said Celeron Square resident and UConn student Justin Dixon. “

The UConn Police Department continues to work to identify and apprehend the offender in the incident.

Police have not released any details about the intruder but ask that any leads be forwarded to the department at 860-486-4800.
