Hartford Police Investigating Three Homicides This Week

HARTFORD – Police are bringing in extra help as they are investigating three homicides that have happened this week. A total of 16 homicides have been reported in the city so far this year.

Detectives responded to a homicide on Evergreen Avenue late Wednesday night, marking at least the fourth shooting victim discovered in the city since Tuesday morning.

Few details were immediately available about the Evergreen Avenue incident. Detectives from the Major Crimes division responded to the scene at about 10:30 p.m.

Earlier Wednesday, a man was found shot to death inside a car on Harrison Place, police said. The body had been there for hours, until a bystander noticed that the car had been running for several hours and called the police.

On Tuesday morning, the body of a Vernon man was found on Linnmoore Street in Hartford. Police said Valentine Santos, appeared to have been shot multiple times.
