Excitement and Jazz.

That’s how Jazz Haven founder Doug Morrill describes New Haven Jazz Week.

The week has already been filled with free jazz music in venues across the city, all leading up to this weekend’s Jazz Festival Saturday on the New Haven Green featuring Wayne Escoffery Quintet.

Also as part of the festival works of art by Andres Chapparo will be displayed at 756 Chapel Street through the weekend, and he will be working with children and families on the New Haven Green to create art on Saturday from 4 p.m.-6 p.m.
