Three Injured In Wrong-Way Crash On Route 8

WATERBURY — Three people were taken to the hospital early Sunday morning after a car driving the wrong way on Route 8 struck another car head on, police said.

Police said Eltany Morias, 23, of Stratford, was driving southbound in the northbound lanes on Route 8 near Exit 30 around 3:40 a.m. when his car hit another car with two people in it. Police said he was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital but the extent of his injuries are not known.

The two in the other vehicle were taken to St Mary’s Hospital and Waterbury Hospital to be evaluated, police said.

Police are investigating the accident.
