Fox 25 in Boston is reporting that police have recovered a gun that was used in a 2012 double homicide in Boston’s South End. Bristol native and former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is being investigated in connection to that case.

Massachusetts State Police say 19-year-old Jailene Diaz-Ramos from Bristol crashed her car on Interstate-91 in Ludlow, Mass., in June. When police investigated the car, they found a gun and ammunition in the trunk that Diaz-Ramos was not licensed to have.

She was arrested and interviewed by police. In the interview, she told police that she had previously given a ride to a friend named “Chicago” and some of his buddies. She referred to “Chicago” as a football player and said it was likely one of them that left the gun.

Fox 25 reported that ballistic tests revealed that the gun was involved in the killing of two men in Boston in 2012.

Diaz-Ramos was arraigned on various gun charges.
