(HLNtv.com) — Catherine Zeta-Jones is “taking some time apart to evaluate and work on” her marriage to Michael Douglas, a representative for the actress confirms to HLN.
The couple, who haven’t been photographed together in months, have been vacationing separately with their two children, son Dylan Michael Douglas, 13, and daughter Carys Zeta Douglas, 10, according to People magazine.
Hundreds of fans crowded outside New York’s Plaza Hotel during the couple’s November 2000 nuptials, which were dubbed the “show business wedding of the year.”
Danny DeVito and Goldie Hawn were just a few members of the star-studded guest list. The lavish ceremony reportedly cost the couple millions.
The Hollywood A-listers have weathered some tough times together recently. Just a few months after Douglas, 68, revealed in 2011 that he’d won his fight with stage 4 throat cancer, Zeta-Jones, 43, confirmed that she’d sought treatment for bipolar II disorder.
Douglas has won two Academy Awards, one in 1987 for Best Actor for his performance in “Wall Street.” Zeta-Jones won an Academy Award in 2002 for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in “Chicago.”
