Areas of dense fog are reducing visibility to less than a mile for this morning’s commute. We’ll see warm and humid weather today under a mix of sun and clouds with the chance for late-day isolated thunderstorms. Highs will be between 80 and 85.

A series of weak disturbances rolling down the jet stream will touch off a few isolated thunderstorms today and tomorrow. Temperatures will average in the 80s with lows in the muggy and mild 60s to near 70.

Weak high pressure will move into the area on Friday with sunshine along with a slightly drier air mass as the atmosphere will stabilize giving our area a delightful last Friday of August to kick off the Labor Day weekend.

Speaking of Labor Day weekend, high pressure will build off the mid-Atlantic coast and transport high humidity back into the region with chances of afternoon storms each day from Saturday through Monday. But it won’t be raining most of the time with partial sunshine and highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s to near 70.

Extended forecast:

Wednesday: Early fog. Partly cloudy and humid with the chance for a hit or miss shower. Highs: Low to mid 80s.

Thursday: Partly cloudy, turning less humid with an isolated shower. Highs: Upper 70s to low 80s.

Friday: Mostly sunny, low humidity. Nice. Highs: Near 80.

Saturday: Partly to mostly sunny, comfortable. Highs: Low to mid 80s.
