Billy Grant, owner of Grant’s and Restaurant Bricco in West Hartford, visited the Fox CT kitchen to celebrate Taste of the Suburbs. All this week you can get fixed price meals at a number of restaurants west of the river. Next week, the promotion focuses on restaurants east of the river.
On Monday morning, Grant shared his recipe for peach mostrada, which is printed below.
1 dozen peaches split, stoned, grilled, loose skin brushed off, and rough chopped
2 cups sugar
¼ cup yellow mustard seeds
½ cup red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon turmeric
1 tablespoon salt
2 tablespoons smooth Dijon mustard
– Simmer 10-15 minutes all but mustard. Add mustard and cool.
