Lockdown Lifted At Norwalk Elementary School

NORWALK — Lockdown has been lifted at Cranbury Elementary school in Norwalk after a report of shots fired nearby.

The school, at 10 Knowalot Lane, was put on lockdown around 11:25 a.m. after a teacher reported hearing what may have been shots fired. Lockdown was later lifted, a spokesman at the school said.

The school is near open space and Cranbury Park, a 227-acre expanse.

Norwalk police reported on their Facebook page that two officers in the area did not locate anything out of the ordinary. Police talked to people nearby and in Cranbury Park, and no other reports of shots fired were received.

The investigation continues.
