New Movie Examines J.D. Salinger’s Life

Will Hochman, a professor at Southern Connecticut State University and an expert on J.D. Salinger, talks about the new movie “Salinger,” which examines the life of the famous author.

Hochman has been reading Salinger since he was 10 years old. He is a professor of English at SCSU and is their resident expert on J.D. Salinger. Will has written several books about Salinger, including the co-authoring of “Critical Companion to J.D. Salinger.” He has conducted many media interviews on Salinger and Catcher in the Rye. Will is also a published poet and author of books for young adults.

The film “Salinger” opened Friday. It features actors Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Edward Norton and was directed by Judd Apatow.
