WEST HAVEN — A man who was struck by a pickup truck at the VA hospital has died as a result of his injuries, police said Tuesday.
The accident happened about 12:10 p.m. Monday, on the West Haven campus of the VA Connecticut Healthcare System, 950 Campbell Ave. The pedestrian was lying in the roadway between two parking lots, police said. He was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Witnesses said a black pickup truck struck the pedestrian. The truck driver remained at the scene and was interviewed by officers, police said.
No arrests were reported. Police have not released the names of those involved.
The department’s Major Accident Unit continues to investigate.
