NEW HAVEN – The manager of a Burger King on Whalley Avenue was shot during a robbery Sunday night, police said.
Officers responded to the Burger King restaurant at 1329 Whalley Ave. at 9:30 p.m. and found the manager, a 19-year-old woman, shot once in the legs, police said. The woman was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital and is listed in critical condition but is alert and able to speak, according to police.
A witness told police two men wearing all black clothing and black ski masks entered the restaurant armed with handguns and demanded money. Police said one of the robbers shot the victim once.
