The fourth annual Run For The Fallen Heroes is scheduled for this weekend in Middletown. Starting at 6 a.m. and going until 3:30 p.m., runners can sign up for as many 8-kilometer laps as they want. In addition to the run, there will be ceremonies to honor veterans.
The race begins at Snow Elementary School, 299 Wadsworth St. The 65 total kilometers of the race represent the 65 Connecticut soldiers who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. While this is the fourth year the event has been held, it is the first year that it has been held in Middletown.
