Shooting Investigated In Waterbury

WATERBURY— A 43-year-old man was shot multiple times near the intersection of Walnut and Irion streets Wednesday evening, according to police.

The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital with serious injuries, police said. As of Wednesday night he was in stable condition.

The shooting happened at approximately 6:30 p.m. The shooter was a man who fled on foot, police said.

Police are interviewing witnesses and a forensics unit is going over the scene, police said.
