We start the day with chilly temperatures in the 30s to low 40s this morning for most of the state, but highs will peak in the low to mid 70s this afternoon and a beautiful stretch of weather is on tap for the rest of the week and the first half of the weekend. You can look forward to sunny, mild days and clear, cool nights.
Temperatures will remain in the 70s on Thursday and by Friday we may hit 80 degrees. Saturday will be warm and a bit more humid under partly sunny skies with temperatures well up in the 70s.
A cold front will slowly cross the region Sunday bringing with it a band of showers. But the showers will weaken once they get into our region and some sun will mix in with those clouds and showers not making it a total washout.
Following the cold front, a northwest wind will usher cooler air back to the region. A storm to the south will try to move northward and spread rain in Connecticut by Tuesday and Wednesday. But some data suggest that next week will be beautiful with sunny, mild days and clear, cool nights with highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s.
Since the system is still five to seven days away, expect this scenario to change and stay with FoxCT for updates through the rest of the week and the weekend.
