Looking to have some fun getting lost this fall?  The 14th Annual Corn Maze at Preston Farms is open for business!

“We decided this year, since it’s 150 years since the Battle of Gettysburg, to do a Gettysburg theme,” says owner Jerry Grabarek, whose family has farmed this land for decades.  From a plane or helicopter, it’s easy to see that the complicated 3.5 mile maze features Abraham Lincoln’s profile, as well as Robert E. Lee’s likeness.  Grabarek creates the design, cutting the corn while making art!

“My paint brush is a string trimmer,” he laughs.

Visitors attempt to find 16 stamping stations hidden in the labyrinth, all with a Civil War theme.

Grabarek believes families return year after year, because the perplexing puzzle is a satisfyingly confusing challenge:  “They say they come to mine because it’s the hardest one in the state, the best one in the state.”

Entrance to the maze costs $8 for adults, $6 for kids ages 6 to 11 and $3.00 for small children.  Preston Farms is located on Route 2 in Preston, Conn. For more information, click here to visit Preston Farms’ website.
