Sunday Night Forecast: Autumn Starts On A Quiet Note

With apologies to Elmer Fudd, Shhhhh. Be vewwy vewwy quiet. It’s autumn season. And we’re starting it on a quiet note.

Monday marks the first full day of autumn, and we are certainly going to feel autumn-like for the next few days. Chilly mornings will be followed by high temperatures running a few degrees below normal for the next few days.

We’re going to be watching the thermometer, and not much more because there just isn’t a lot to be concerned with in the weather department as a fairly large ridge of high pressure keeps things nice and quiet across much of the nation for a few days.

For now, on the front side of this high, we’ll feel a northerly flow, and temps will be a bit below average. We should be in the low 70s for normal highs, but it will be mid-week before we get that again. And as for the lows? About 50 is the norm, yet we’ll be closer to 40 for the time being.

We’re also not watching the tropics. Things remain largely quiet across the Atlantic Ocean and in the Gulf of Mexico. No storm development is expected anytime soon.
