It’s now too cold for swimming at Brownstone Park in Portland, but it’s OK if you have a wet suit.

Connecticut State Police divers were in the water at the park to bring up a pickup truck using airbags. It was all part of a joint training program involving police dive teams from all over New England.

Wednesday, the teams took swift water lessons in Vermont, and Monday they were diving around large ships in Boston.

“Relying on other agencies and their expertise really pays off,” Master Sgt. Chris McCarthy, leader of the CT State Police Dive Team, said.

Brownstone Park was the last place for in-water instruction during the joint training. The dive teams are now scheduled to train in the classroom.
