Yelp Hartford Celebrates Fall With Local Events

Yelp's Local RootsYelp is a website and mobile app that connects people to local businesses. People use Yelp to find recommendations about area restaurants and other businesses through local reviews.

During the week of Oct. 5, Yelp Hartford is celebrating the season with a series of events focused on fall harvest in a promotion called Yelp’s Local Roots. Over the course of the week there will be six events open to the public, all of which are free to attend or cost less than $10 to attend.

All of the events highlight local Connecticut harvest and farm fresh bounty in various ways.

The company will be planting garlic with Knox Parks, learning about canning and preserving with the Kitchen at Billings Forge, wine tasting at Lost Acres Vineyard, apple picking at Lyman Orchards, participating in a farm-to-table cooking demo at Whole Foods, and tasting hard cider at the century old Hogan’s Cider Mill.
