Teams of three middle and high school students compete in a friendly competition to spell increasingly difficult words. Top teams are awarded iPads and other prizes. Teams are encouraged to wear T-shirts or other costumes and bring their whole family along.
This year’s event will feature Javier Colon, a Connecticut native and musician who was the 2011 winner of The Voice. There is also a separate adult competition.
Achieve Hartford! is an independent, nonprofit organization of business and community leaders that focuses on student achievement and school reform.
