An ocean storm will miss Connecticut today and tonight leading to continuing sunny weather with temperatures possibly exceeding 80 by the middle of the week.

The storm, currently located well off the New England coast, will skirt the region with some clouds and breezes this afternoon and tonight. Most if not all of the rain will stay offshore as well.

High pressure will continue to dominate our weather with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures this week with highs averaging in the 70s and possibly low 80s by Wednesday. A weak cool front will move through the region with a few clouds and a wind shift that will usher in slightly cooler weather for the second half of the week when temperatures will drop back in the 70s.

High pressure will continue to influence our weather with mostly sunny skies and delightful weather conditions through next weekend with no significant rainfall in sight for the next week. There are signs of a big pattern change by the middle of next week through mid-October from the current dry and mild pattern to a wet and stormy pattern that could potentially bring some much-needed rain.
