The ripple effect of the government shutdown is widespread.

The good news is air travel has not been interrupted because federal employees at airports are still at work.  That includes TSA agents, as well as workers with the FAA and U.S. Customs And Border Protection. However, some of America’s favorite destinations are off-limits.

The shutdown has forced doors to close for much of the country’s great outdoors.

“The biggest impact will be at national parks and monuments, all of them are closed, everything from the Statue Of Liberty to Yosemite National Park,” Aaron Kupec, a AAA spokesman, said.

AAA said the shutdown hasn’t affected passport processing like it did during the last shutdown 17 years ago.
