FARMINGTON — A 51-year-old woman was seriously injured Monday night when she was struck by a car about 7 p.m. on Route 6 near the Hampton Inn.

Lauren Galasso of New Britain was taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment.

Route 6 was closed Monday night until about 11:15 as members of the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad investigated the crash.

Police said that the driver of the car, Faith Mercier, 53, stayed at the scene and was cooperating with investigators. Mercier was not injured.
