Lawyers are scheduled to begin picking a jury Thursday morning to consider the state’s case against Tory Westbrook, a Clinton physician accused of sexually assaulting female patients in Clinton and Manchester.

Westbrook’s attorney, Norm Pattis, and Middlesex State’s Attorney Peter McShane were unable to reach a plea agreement. Middletown Superior Court Judge David P. Gold will preside over the trial, which is scheduled to begin Oct. 28.

Westbrook, 45, of Glastonbury, has 19 different cases pending in Superior Court in Middletown. He was first arrested in June 2012 by Clinton police. Most cases involve allegations of inappropriate sexual contact with female patients at the Community Health Center in Clinton, where Westbrook practiced, and at a laser hair removal clinic Westbrook ran in Manchester.
