WEST HARTFORD — A vigilant Dorset Road resident helped police capture two men suspected of breaking into her neighbor’s house on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Police officers went searching for the suspects after the resident reported seeing two strange men enter her neighbor’s garage. She gave police a detailed description of men, as well as the direction they headed, police said.

Officers found the men, identified as Edrick Santiago, 18, and Oscar Santiago, 18, traveling east on Farmington Avenue and stopped them. Property stolen during the burglary was recovered, police said.

The suspects face burglary, larceny and conspiracy charges. Oscar Santiago is also charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and failure to keep at least one hand on a handlebar.

Police urge residents who see something or someone out of the ordinary to call 860-523-5203 or 911 in an emergency.
