The storm shunted south and west as Connecticut avoided flooding rains. Dry weather will continue as high pressure to the north continues to keep the rain away.

High pressure in eastern Canada will continue to supply a cool NNE wind and dry air across CT once again with intervals of sun and clouds.  The high will slowly migrate south and settle across Connecticut during the Columbus Day Weekend delivering delightful weather under partly to mostly sunny skies.  Highs will average in the 60s, lows in the 40s.

High pressure will continue to dominate our weather through next Wednesday with sunshine and mild temperatures for the middle of October with highs in the upper 60s to near 70.  Keep in mind that the average high temperature for this time of year is 65 degrees.  The next chance for rain will be next Thursday as a cold front will cross Connecticut that could potentially usher in the coldest air mass of the season when temperatures will plummet from 5 degrees above normal to 5-10 degrees below normal.
