“Hiring Our Heroes” is a job fair that the United States Chamber of Commerce and sponsors like the “Call of Duty Endowment” started a few years ago.

The goal is to get more military men and women good jobs after their service is over.

Tuesday,  “Hiring Our Heroes” came to the Lyceum in Hartford and 40 vendors from all different industries set up shop to give military members a shot.

Across the country over 20 thousand vets and their spouses have been hired since the program began in 2011.

“Hiring vets is good for business, they’re hard workers, they’re always on time, they’re innovative,” said Emily Munoz, the eastern regional associate for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce that operates the program.

Military job seekers were also offered an employment workshop at the Lyceum.  The goal of the National Chamber Foundation is to get about a half-million veterans hired by the end of 2014.
