NEW LONDON — A man was killed Monday afternoon when the rear porch and stairwell of an apartment building at 23 N. Hawthorne Drive collapsed, police said.
The man was on the stairs during the collapse, which was reported at 4:28 p.m.. He suffered severe head trauma and was taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
The building has been condemned.
