Scooter Rider Critically Injured In Hartford Crash

HARTFORD — Police are investigating a crash at Arnold Street and Hillside Avenue that left a 76-year-old scooter rider critically injured.

Police said they were called for the crash at 9:12 a.m. and when they arrived found that an Ford F250 pickup truck pulling a landscaping trailer hit the scooter.

The truck, owned by Rivera Brothers Landscaping LLC of East Hartford, was eastbound on Arnold Street and the scooter was northbound on Hillside.

The preliminary investigation indicates the scooter rider, who was not identified, had the right of way, police said. The scooter rider is in critical condition at Hartford Hospital, police said.
