Following the bombings at the Boston Marathon, security will never be the same in this city. But, police and city officials say they are ready for the city’s first major event since the marathon bombings.
Police today suggested to fans, who plan to attend the World Series games in Boston, that they utilize public transportation and plan on arriving a couple of hours before the games because a very tight security perimeter will be set up.
Bars located in the vicinity of Fenway Park received a letter from city officials spelling out procedures they must comply with if the World Series reaches a game on which the Red Sox can clinch the title.
Among the mandates: all outside tables and chairs must be brought indoors following the 5th inning of any potential clinching game. And, upon completion of the 7th inning of said game, any patrons leaving a bar will not be allowed to return. The bars will also be required to black out their windows following the seventh inning of any clinching game to prevent loitering.
