Adrienne Cochrane, the President and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Hartford was in the Fox CT studio to promote her upcoming event, A Night at Bellagio.

From the Urban League of Greater Hartford:

The Urban League of Greater Hartford, Inc. (ULGH) is a community based, not-for-profit 501 ©3.  The Urban League provides programs and initiatives in the areas of Education and Youth; Workforce Development and Training; and Economic Enrichment.  The Urban League of Greater Hartford is the 66th affiliate of the National Urban League.  Founded in 1964 by Rachel Milton, Marion Hepburn Grant, Dr. James S Peters, II, Judge Norris O’Neill and Olcott Smith, it is one of the largest direct social services agencies in New England.

Mission:  To promote the self-empowerment of individuals in the Connecticut Capital Region to achieve educational, occupational and economic equality for themselves and their families.

Vision:  The Urban League of Greater Hartford aims to be the provider of choice for our customers and an employer of choice for our co-workers. We strive to be an investment of choice for our corporate, government and philanthropic partners and the model of integrity and excellence for a Community Cased Organization.

Urban League of Greater Hartford’s Equal Opportunity Day (EOD) Dinner is the culminating celebration of a year of accomplishments and recognition of outstanding business, community, and corporate support.  EOD is also a vehicle for raising unrestricted dollars to support programs and initiatives in the areas of Youth and Education; Workforce Development and Training; and Economic Enrichment.  It is also an opportunity to embrace old friends, and to introduce ourselves to new friends. Last year, we invited guests to step into the rich history of the Harlem Renaissance. This year, as the lead-in to our 50th Anniversary in 2014, we will celebrate the evening in a Las Vegas casino style setting…we guarantee it will be a high stakes affair!
