Delays in releasing the final report about the tragedy at Sandy Hook have been concerning, and even irritating, for some leaders.

Hamden Mayor Scott Jackson chairs the Sandy Hook Advisory Commission.

The commission has met fourteen times since January, but suspended meetings ten weeks ago.

Mayor Jackson complained that there’s nothing more the commission can do about recommendations for improving school and public safety without the official state police report.

“My concern is really about wrapping together a coherent response to this event, so the report will say what happened, and now it’s up to the state of Connecticut to say, well, this is how we responded to it, and I happen to be engaged in that, and I just want it to be timely,” Jackson said.

Governor Dannel Malloy was also critical about the report’s delays.  The governor called upon Danbury State’s Attorney Stephen Sedensky to announce a release date.
