NEW LONDON – A 2-month-old child allegedly died Saturday after he was allegedly assaulted by a city man, police said.
Adam Browne, 24, was arrested early Friday in connection with the assault.
The baby was reported unconscious just after 2 a.m. Friday and was taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
The child’s injuries were not accidental, police said. Officers established a crime scene and began to collect evidence. After further investigation, Browne was placed under arrest, police said.
Browne is being held with bail set at $500,000.
