NEW HAVEN – One patron is reported dead after a gunman shoots six people inside of New Haven‘s Key Club Cabaret at 3:31 a.m. Saturday morning, according to police.
Police say one female victim has died, two victims are listed in critical condition and the remaining three are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The responding officer was outside of the club at 85 Saint John Street when he heard gunfire coming from inside. As he rushed inside, over 100 patrons scrambled out through the main entrance. Several officers in the vacinity arrived as backup quickly after.
The gunshot victims were located inside the adult club’s after-hours area. No suspect as been identified, but detectives have begun their investigation.
Police also found drug paraphernalia and drug packaging littered throughout the club. The clubs owners were not present at the time.
