Accident Closes Part Of Route 7

NEW MILFORD – A portion of Route 7 is closed after a driver struck a utility pole, police said.

The crash happened shortly before midnight and Route 7, also known as Danbury Road, remains closed between Still River Drive and Picket District Road, police said early Thursday.

Connecticut Light & Power is on scene making repairs. Police said they expect repairs to take several hours and believe the morning commute will be affected.

The driver was not seriously injured and was taken into custody, police said. The driver’s charges were not immediately available.
