Family and friends of Erica Robinson prepare for her funeral. The young woman was the victim of a senseless shooting at Key Club Cabaret in New Haven Saturday morning.

Police identified Adrian Bennett as the suspect. They believe Bennett killed Robinson and injured five others when he opened fire at the club. Since that shooting, many people have stopped by Jimmy’s Hip Hop Store in West Haven looking for a piece of Robinson’s clothing line.

The 26-year-old designed shirts for the store.

“There were a couple of customers that came in today asking for her stuff, people calling on the phone,” said Raymond Wells.

Wells works at  the store and said they sold out of Robinson’s clothing line over the weekend.

“She loved the clothing line, she stuck with it, she had the commitment to follow everything through so I respected that a lot.”

Shafiq R.F. Abdussabur is the family’s spokesperson.

“The family is in prayer right now, the family is heavily rooted in prayer,” he said.

The family is happy knowing that Police have a suspect in mind.

“Certainly as we get closure on the suspect and as we get closure on closing the criminal case that is certainly a start.”

Funeral services for Robinson are scheduled for Saturday, November 2 at Agape Christian Center in New Haven. Calling hours for the wake are between 8-9 a.m. The funeral will take place between 9 and 11 a.m. Burial will be followed at Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven.

A repass is scheduled from 12-4 p.m. at St. Matthew’s for family and friends.

Contributions can be made to Celeste Fulcher and be mailed to Shafiq R.F. Abdussabur: 365 Whalley Avenue P.O. Box 123 New Haven, CT 06511
