Singer Overcomes Breast Cancer, Sings All Over The World

Gospel singer Jolie Rocke Brown, who has performed both locally and abroad in Europe, talks about how she has used her music and her faith to overcome breast cancer. Brown has a new album out titled “Rock of Ages.”

“It was a challenging time to say the least,” Brown said of her battle with breast cancer. “It was first and foremost my faith in God, then my family’s support and a wonderful team of doctors that got me through it.” In the quiet times, during my convalescence two years ago, these songs came to mind. I sang them over and over many times. They were my comforting refrain.”

She will debut music from her new album at an even on Nov. 9 at Asylum Hill Congregational Church, 814 Asylum Ave. in Hartford.
