Crews make repairs after lightning struck a utility pole in Windsor Locks near Bradley International Airport. (Fox CT)

WINDSOR LOCKS – Route 75 is closed after lightning struck a utility pole and sent wires down into the roadway, police said.

The lightning strike was reported shortly before 6 a.m. The road is closed near the intersection with Schoephoester Road in the area of Bradley International Airport, police said.

Connecticut Light & Power crews are on scene and making repairs but the work is expected to take several hours. Airport officials said they haven’t experienced any loss of power.
