Hamden Police Investigate Two Robberies

Two Southern Connecticut State University students were robbed at gunpoint while walking on Arch Street, near Fitch Street, after midnight Thursday.

The victims were ordered to turn over their belongings, which included electronics and credit cards, police said.

The suspect then fled on foot. A police dog tracked followed a track to a condominium complex on Pine Rock Avenue where the track ended.

A second robbery took place in the parking lot of a McDonald’s restaurant on Dixwell Avenue around 7:15 p.m. Thursday.

A male victim was robbed by after two men pulled up in a Jeep Cherokee and asked for directions. The victim pulled out his phone to look up direction, the driver pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded the phone, police said.

The Jeep Cherokee left, heading south on Dixwell Avenue.
