HAMDEN — A 36-year-old man was killed Tuesday morning after the vehicle he was driving veered into oncoming traffic on State Street and crashed into another vehicle, police said.
The accident happened around 8:45 a.m.
A preliminary investigation suggests that Joseph Manacchio was heading north, but crossed the double yellow line and struck a vehicle in the southbound lane, police said.
Manacchio was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the other vehicle sustained non life-threatening injuries, police said.
