Early Morning Crash On I-84 Eastbound In East Hartford

EAST HARTFORD — Three people were taken to Hartford Hospital following a one-car crash that closed two lanes of I-84 eastbound in East Hartford Saturday morning.

According to state police, the accident occurred at about 7:20 a.m. near the Exit 59 off-ramp to I-384 eastbound.

Police said a 2010 Chevy Impala being driven by William Riddick, 44, of 80 Market St., Lawrence, Ma., drifted off the right side of the road and hit a barrier separating I-84 from the exit ramp.

Lisa D. Riddick, 45, of 80 Market St., Lawrence, Ma., was ejected from the front passenger seat and suffered a broken right leg and head lacerations, police said. Her injuries were non-life threatening, according to police.

William Riddick and Elsie Riddick, 70, of the same address, were also transported taken to Hartford Hospital with minor injuries, police said.
