EAST WINDSOR— One person is dead following a crash involving a car and a dump truck on Route 5 in the area of East Windsor high school, police said.
The police have identified the victim but will not release any names until next of kin is notified.
The car involved was a white Acura with dealer license plates. A witness said the driver was the only occupant of the car.
The driver of the dump truck was able to exit the vehicle with no obvious injuries.
According to the Department of Transportation, the accident happened at approximately 2:45 p.m.
Route 5 remains closed while police investigate the crash. The road should reopen around 6 p.m., police said.
