Middletown Brothers Charged With Selling Marijuana

MIDDLETOWN — Police arrested two brothers suspected of selling marijuana and seized evidence of a drug sales from their residence at 41 Poinsettia Street.

Stephen Hunter, 29, was charged last month with use of drug paraphernalia, illegal sale of a controlled substance, possession of a hallucinogenic substance.

Nicholas Hunter, 28, was charged with use of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to sell and possession of a control substance.

While searching the home on Nov. 22 police found marijuana in different locations totaling 5 ounces, marijuana brownies, $2,220 in suspected drug proceeds, liquid THC, scales, marijuana grinders and bongs.

Phones belonging to both brothers had several text messages from people seeking to buy marijuana. Stephen Hunter told police he was aware that his brother was selling drugs and tried getting him to stop, police said.

Stephen Hunter could not explain why he had text messages from people who wanted to buy marijuana from him or why he had responded to those messages, police said.
