There is a Winter Storm watch for Northern Litchfield County tonight into tomorrow morning with the potential for several inches of snow.

A very active weather pattern is underway as a cold front and a few storms effect Connecticut through the weekend. This morning, temperatures are in the mild 50s across some areas of the state, while the northwestern area already has a cold front bringing temperatures in the 40s.

With the colder air moving in overnight, northwestern Connecticut could see as much as 2-4 inches of snow, Litchfield county could see 6 inches, and the shoreline could see an inch or two.

Today: Cloudy with showers at times. Turning cooler with temperatures falling through the 40s in the afternoon. Rain changing to a wintry mix/snow late at night.

Saturday: Snow/sleet ending around/before daybreak. Quick clearing but remaining chilly with high temperatures in the upper 30s inland, near 40 degrees for the shoreline.

Sunday: Increasing clouds. Snow developing at night. High temperatures in the middle 30s inland, upper 30s along the shoreline.

Monday: Early morning snow/ice changing to rain. Travel problems are possible for the morning commute. Periods of rain the rest of the day. Highs in the upper 30s and low 40s.

Tuesday: A mix of sun and clouds. Chance for a snow shower. High temperatures in the middle 30s.
