BRISTOL — A 51-year-old Stamford man was charged after police say he threatened to blow up Bristol city hall on Monday.

Robert Daprile, 51, made the threats during a telephone conversation with a city hall employee about a lien placed on property he owns on Rockwell Avenue, police said. The lien was placed because of blight issues, police said.

Police said Daprile threatened to put a bomb in city hall and to blow up the buildings. When police went to Daprile’s Stamford home Monday, police said he admitted he made the threat.

He was charged with first-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace and held on $40,000 bail.
