It is part amusement park, part winter wonderland, and all fun for the family.

It stands to reason that Edaville, USA gets glowing reviews because there are more lights than you can count for Christmas — an estimated 7 million of them.

Each December, the park, which has been in operation in Carver, Massachusetts since 1946, amps things up with the Christmas Festival of Lights, and that draws families from all over the region.

“This tradition, it’s free of iPads and iPods and people connect with each other like they did 50 years ago,” said Edaville owner, Jon Delli Priscolli.

Ryan Coholan, who is the Engineer of the famed attraction at the park, Locomotive #2, a vintage train pulled by a 1946 GE diesel-electric engine said, “it’s a playground for kids, adults, if you like trains, if you like Christmas, if you like the holiday season, this is the junction of all of that.”

The Christmas Festival Of Lights at Edaville, USA runs through January 1. It’s open everyday, except Christmas.

Tickets to the park, which include a scenic train ride are $19 for general admission and $16 for seniors. It’s just under two hours to get to Carver, Mass. from Hartford.
