The weapon was described by police as an AR-15 rifle that had been modified to fire on full automatic, or as a machine gun.
Michael Badgley, 25, was arrested on a warrant Thursday and is to be arraigned Friday in Superior Court in Bristol. He was held in lieu of $500,000 bail, police said.
State police detectives also served a search warrant at Badgley’s home on Meriden Waterbury Turnpike and said they found and seized two high capacity magazines, a scope and ammunition for the weapon.
