Educator and author Dr. Doug Haddad talks about some ways you can keep your kids busy, and learning too, during the holiday break from school.

If you’re staying at home, there are some technological gadgets that also have an educational side to them, such as the Leap Motion controller or the XO Tablet.

Besides technology, you can take part in arts and crafts to help decorate the house, like paper bag wreaths, popsicle stick ornaments, homemade snow globes, decorative snowflakes and fingerprint lights with paint. And if you want to get out of the house, there are a number of local museums and theaters, some of which have special deals for children.
